The hardest part about this 3 ingredient peanut butter fudge is having to wait a couple of hours while it chills and sets up properly in the refrigerator. But the easiest part is making it within one minute of cooking time. The peanut butter gets heated in the microwave, so there is no need to boil this fudge recipe on the stove or use a candy thermometer. And the best part about this easy fudge recipe is it tastes absolutely amazing!

🍴 Key Ingredients
- 1 cup of creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips – or milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk
👩🍳 How to Make 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Fudge
These step-by-step instructions are accompanied by detailed photos for enhanced clarity and guidance.
Step 1. Add the Peanut Butter to the Condensed Milk
Pour 1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk into a large glass bowl that is safe for the microwave. Then add 1 cup of creamy peanut to the bowl with the condensed milk.
Step 2. Stir and Put the Peanut Butter Mixture in the Microwave
With a spatula, stir the peanut butter together with the condensed milk until it is a creamy texture. Then place the microwave-safe bowl in the microwave on high for 30 seconds. Take the bowl out of the microwave, then stir again and return it to the microwave for 30 more seconds.
Step 3. Add the Chocolate Chips
Take the peanut butter mixture out of the microwave and immediately add the chocolate chips to it, then stir. The peanut butter mixture is hot enough to melt the chocolate chips. Do not put it back into the microwave.
Step 4. Combine the Chocolate Chips with the Peanut Butter Mixture
Keep stirring the peanut butter and chocolate chip mixture until it is smooth and well blended. It will turn into a soft, smooth, and thick peanut butter fudge right before your very eyes. Set it aside for just a minute while we prepare the baking dish in the next step.
Step 5. Prepare the Baking Dish
Put a piece of parchment paper in an 8-inch baking dish, overlapping it on all sides of the dish. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly around in the dish. The easiest way to do that is to press the fudge down using your fingers or a spatula.
Tip: If you don’t have any parchment paper, you can use wax paper or spray the baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 6. Chill in the Refrigerator
Put the fudge in the refrigerator for about two hours to set properly. After that, take it out of the refrigerator and lift the parchment paper out of the baking dish with the peanut butter fudge on it (or you can leave the fudge in the dish), then with a sharp knife, cut the fudge into 25 small squares. This fudge is very sweet and rich, so it only takes a couple of small pieces to make you very happy. Enjoy!
⭐️ Recipe Variations
- If you prefer a nutty flavor, add some chopped walnuts or finely chopped pecans to the peanut butter mixture right before adding the chocolate chips, or you can sprinkle the nuts on top of the fudge right after spreading it in the baking dish. This will also give the fudge a nice crunch.
- Or, if you like crunchy peanut butter, you can use that instead of the creamy peanut butter, but keep in mind that you will have peanuts in your fudge, which sounds good to me.
- Add a few white chocolate chips after the chocolate chips have melted and cooled down a bit.
- If you prefer a rich dark chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips.
🙋 FAQs
You can leave any leftover peanut butter fudge sit on the countertop at room temperature in the same baking dish you made it in and cover it with a piece of plastic wrap or aluminum foil. You can also transfer it to an airtight container and put the fudge in the refrigerator.
Yes, you can freeze leftover peanut butter fudge. As a matter of fact, it tastes fantastic half thawed. Put the leftover fudge in a freezer bag, or cut the fudge into individual pieces and put in them in small ziplock bags. Then you can grab a small bag from the freezer and enjoy it whenever you want to.
