👩🍳 How to Make Grinch Dip Recipe for Christmas Dessert
These step-by-step instructions are accompanied by detailed photos for enhanced clarity and guidance.
Step 1. Soften the Cream Cheese
Take 8 ounces of cream cheese out of the refrigerator and let it set at room temperature so it can soften. You can let it set on the countertop until it is softer, or speed up the softening process by filling a small bowl with warm tap water, then lay the cream cheese with the aluminum foil still on it, in the warm water until soft.
Step 2. Make the Whipped Cream Cheese Mixture
After the cream cheese is soft, put it in a large mixing bowl together with 1 cup of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Step 3. Mix Cream Cheese, Powdered Sugar, and Vanilla Extract
Use an electric hand mixer to whip the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until thoroughly blended together. Set aside for now.
Step 4. Prepare the Heavy Whipping Cream
Put one cup of heavy whipping cream into a large bowl, then use a hand mixer to whip the cream until it has a fluffy texture to it.
Step 5. Add the Heavy Whipped Cream to the Cream Cheese Mixture
Pour the heavy whipped cream mixture we just prepared in the bowl together with the whipped cream cheese mixture.
Step 6. Fold in the Whipped Cream Cheese with the Heavy Whipped Cream
Give the whipped cream cheese mixture and the heavy whipped cream mixture a good stir with a spatula. This should only take a couple of minutes to blend the two mixtures together until well combined.
Step 7. Pour in the Green Food Coloring
Squirt a few drops of green food coloring in the whipped cream and cream cheese mixture. Depending on your desire of color, it doesn’t take much food coloring to produce a light pastel, yet bright green color. You can use regular green food coloring that is in liquid form, or you can use the gel kind, whatever your preference may be.
Step 8. Stir in the Food Coloring
We used a spatula to stir the food coloring together with the whipped cream and cream cheese mixture. It just took a minute or so to get the color we were looking for. The Grinch dip mixture is now finished.
Step 9. Toss in some Red Hearts
Throw in a few red heart sprinkles together with the Grinch dip mixture for a little added crunch.
Step 10. Transfer to a Serving Dish
Get out your favorite serving bowl and fill it with this delicious dessert dip, then cover the top of the dip with red sprinkles. If you prefer to do so, you can get creative and make a heart shaped design with the sprinkles or whatever other design you think is cute.
Place the bowl of Grinch dip on a serving dish that is big enough to add cookies all around the bowl. Serve this dessert after dinner along with any other desserts you have made.
Note: Keep the Grinch dip in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve it to your family, friends, and guests.
🛒 Recipe Variations for Grinch Dip
- Change the food coloring for different holiday gatherings.

- Instead of tossing red sprinkles on top of the Grinch dip, create the sprinkles in the shape of a heart.
🙋 FAQs
If you have any leftover dip, for the best results, put it in a sealed airtight container and place it in the refrigerator. It is not advisable to use plastic wrap for the covering. The plastic wrap will stick to the Grinch dip. Make sure to consume this Grinch dip within a couple of days.
Yes, you can freeze Grinch dip. Put the leftovers in a freezer safe container and store it in the freezer for a couple of months. When you feel like dipping some cookies in a delicious sweet treat, take some out of the container and let it thaw for a few minutes on the countertop, then start dipping and enjoy.
A great idea is to divide the leftovers into more than one container. Figure out how much dip it would take for everyone to dip two or three cookies in it. That way you can take one container out of the freezer at a time, let it thaw for a few minutes, and then have no leftovers.
